- Exit Microsoft Outlook.
- To launch Outlook in safe mode, press Windows + R, type Outlook.exe/safe, then press “Enter.”
- Navigate to File > Options > Add-ins.
- In Manage, choose “COM Add-ins” and then click “Go.”
- Uncheck all the add-ins and then press the “OK” button.
- Next, exit Outlook and relaunch it as usual.
- Confirm to see whether the error has been addressed. If so, navigate to “File > Options > Add-ins” and press “Go.”
- Activate a single add-in at a moment and immediately check Outlook for errors.
- Continue these procedures to locate and remove the malfunctioning add-in, as well as to fix the issue.
Method 2: Activate the cached Exchange option
If you don’t know how to enable the cached exchange mode, then perform the following steps:
- Firstly, exit Outlook, launch the Control Panel, and type “mail” into the search box.
- To launch the “Mail Setup” panel, double-click on the Mail option.
- Select “Email Accounts…” from the drop-down menu.
- Next, choose the email profile and hit “Change,” or double-click it to enter “Server Settings.”
- Then tick the Cached Exchange Mode option and then hit the Next > Finish option.

Method 3: Remove the existing account profile and replace it with a new one
- Open the Control Panel on your PC and look for Mail.
- You must first register a new account and then remove the existing one after entering the mail dialog box.
Press the “Show Profiles” button, then the “Add” button. - Inside the “Add Account” window, complete the step-by-step instructions to establish a new account.
Use the drop-down icon in the Mail Dialog box to pick the new account, and then identify the “Always use this profile” option. - Once fully creating the account, navigate to the Show Profiles option and choose the older account. Select the “Remove” option.
- Likewise, the caution notice will inform you that if you delete the account, the offline cached content will be deleted as well. Click the OK button.
- Restart Outlook after canceling the Control Panel.
Method 4: Remove all Outlook profiles, excluding the primary account
When you are using Outlook with numerous accounts, consider removing all Outlook Profile but leave the primary account. The procedure is as follows:
- Exit Microsoft Outlook and, afterwards, navigate to the Control Panel.
- Browse for mail, then double-click on it to open it.
- In the Mail Configuration window, hit the ‘Show Profiles’ option.
- Select the profile you wish to delete from the mail window and thereafter hit the “Remove” option.
